Celebrating with Gma & Gpa Nickle

This evening we had my parents over to celebrate Brooks. He got some adorable cars PJs and a toy that you can build a train, helicopter or car out of. Afterwards, we had cake and ice cream!

Hallie

Hallie is such a sweet little girl! She genuinely wants to do what is right and good. She has a good and pure heart and is kind to everyone. Her stubbornness pushes her to excel in life and sometimes even prove me wrong in things. Her intelligence is out of this world and I can't believe how well she reads and understands things. Sometimes I have to remind myself she is only 6 years old! She's such a great role model to her younger sibling(s) and I'm so glad to have her as my oldest.

Apparently during quiet time she thought the best place to take a nap would be in the middle of the kitchen. Haha!

One day I woke up from a nap with this sweet art/note she left for me on my nightstand. It made my whole day! I've had it hung up on the fridge ever since.

On Friday's, when we do home school, her teacher requests that we send her pictures of the work she is doing. Hallie always wants to get in on the pictures too. Love that little face of hers!
Her imagination kills me! One week, she pretended her foot was broken and wore every single one of her socks on one foot to make a "cast."
We made a fort on her bed hoping that she would then start sleeping in her bed instead of on her floor. She was excited about this for about 1 week and then moved her fort to the floor and continues to sleep on her floor. Silly girl!

Celebrating with Gma & Gpa Ahlberg

We had the Ahlberg grandparents over tonight to celebrate. Brooks has a thing for his Grandpas and so he loved having Grandpa Joe here to celebrate. He was a happy boy from the beginning of the party to the end.

I love my little cars loving 3 year old!!

We started with opening presents. He opened his new clothes and immediately put them on the floor and said, "This is for baby." Haha! I guess we've been buying a lot of baby clothes lately. But later on in the week, when he realized there were cars on his t-shirts he started really liking his new clothes. I loved watching his excitement when he opened his cars and trailers.

He loved when we connected his race tracks to his new trailer. He jumped up and down when we shot off his new cars down his tracks.

Hallie's birthday card she made to him. Notice the Lightening McQueen car. Cute, cute!
Next, we did cake and ice cream. For a few weeks, I have been asking Brooks what he wants to do for his birthday. Every time I asked he would respond with "a cars cake and ice cream." So, that is exactly what he got, a cars cake and vanilla ice cream since he doesn't like chocolate. He was so excited to eat his cake that before we could even sing Happy Birthday to him he quickly sang it to himself instead. It was so funny!
I love how he always puts his hands in his pockets!

I got him some cars tattoos as part of the party decor. I thought he would love them. He usually loves putting tattoos on. But tonight only Hallie wanted to wear them. The next night, when my parents came over, he wanted to wear all the tattoos, on both hands and feet!
