My goal is to do something fun with the kids every day during their Spring Break. Today was Day 1. We went bowling with our cousin, Pratt. I thought it would be fun but Hallie and Brooks complained most of the time that we didn't do arcade games instead. Taco enjoyed bowling, however, and bowled during the older kids' turns as well when they were out "pretending" to play arcade games.
Since Russ started his new temp job at the beginning of the month, progress on the fireplace has been slow. But, that is okay. It really is remarkable what Russ is able to build.
Brooks has had a fun and busy month! He dressed up in the "armor of God" at church, he played with his good friend, River, he dyed his hair (half blue/half green) for crazy hair day and immediately washed it out right after school, he wrote an "I am lucky to know you" letter at school to Russ ("I like that you play basketball with me. Will you play basketball with me? Will you pick baseball?"), he created a "haunted house" in our basement with paper ghosts taped to the ceiling, he has been doing so well in his reading, he helped cut down a tree in our backyard, he finished another jr. jazz basketball season and he had a "late over" with a bunch of his school friends.
Oh man our kids are busy and crazy and have completely different personalities. They each bring something special and unique to our family. They each have a special relationship with each of their siblings and it is cute to watch that grow. I don't have many photos this month, however.
Stockton ate all of the frosting from the toasted strudel box, leaving all of the pastry's and none of the frosting. Stinker.
There is a lottery system to get tickets to go to the Master's Tournament. I guess there is like a 1 in 200 chance of getting your name drawn for this. Welp, on Russ' first year of entering into the lottery system, he won 4 tickets to go to the Master's practice round!! So, next month, Russ and 3 of his buddies are flying out to Georgia to see it. To say he is excited is an understatement.
We took the kids out to Leatherby's to celebrate them being SO good in school and exceling so much! We are proud of their hard work and their good behavior. We never have to worry about whether they are listening to their teacher or if they are causing problems in school. Way to go Brooks and Hallie!
Photo dump of Stockton for the month of March. He refuses his naps, so he usually falls asleep randomly when he just can't hang anymore. He twisted his finger in the basement basketball net and, as you can imagine, he wasn't happy about it. He dresses himself everyday and usually his clothes are on backwards and inside out, shoes are on the wrong feet and nothing matches. He and Brooks put tattoos all over their bodies, including in the center of their belly button's.
We celebrated our anniversary last week by going to dinner and Les Mis but Russ surprised me this weekend by taking me to the Grand America breakfast buffet. I have wanted to do this for years but they only offer it on Sunday and so we haven't. But, Russ asked my mom to watch our kids for a few hours so we could go this Sunday. It was delicious! We felt fancy and it was fun to get dressed up and go downtown. Happy 16 years to us! I can't believe we have been married for as old as I was when I started dating Russ. Wild how fast time has gone! I love the life we have built together and the 3 cute kids we have brought into our lives, and cute little Rosie too! Our family is the most precious thing to me in this world.
