Kids

There will never be enough words to accurately describe how deep my love is for my kids. I have everything I've ever wished for with the 3 of them and Russ. I am so grateful for my kids and so blessed to be able to raise them. They are my everything and the reason I do basically everything I do. I love them SO much!

Cabo Wedding

For about a year now we have known that Brett and Jess were getting married in Cabo. To be honest, I haven't been super pumped about going to the wedding. Kids were not invited to the wedding and leaving my kids with anyone other then Russ for long periods of time stresses the crap out of me. Seriously, the night before we left you would have thought someone died in our family with how emotional I was. I worry that they won't be okay without me or that Taco will want his mom and I won't be there. I worry that something will happen to Russ and I and then my kids won't have parents. I worry about it all.

Also, getting to the wedding and being at the wedding would be completely funded by us. And let's just say that Jess has very expensive tastes. The 'wedding hotel' we had to stay at cost so much money a night that our family (each Ahlberg couple) split the room with another Ahlberg couple to ease the blow of the cost. Luckily there were 2 separate rooms in each hotel room but still not all the privacy you would have wanted. The hotel was not all-inclusive so despite the hotel costing so much to stay at we also had to pay for every bit of food we had there too. The food was very delicious, however!! The beach to the hotel had such high tides that the ocean was not allowed to be swam in. The wedding took up 3 of the 7 days we were there and there was a specific attire to wear to each of those 3 days. Clearly you can tell I had very negative feelings attending the wedding. It is just that Russ and I haven't had a vacation together in almost 8 years and this wasn't the way I wanted to spend our only vacation we will probably get together for another few years. I told Russ countless times that I wasn't going to go and that he could just go without me. But, in the end, I decided I was going to have a good attitude about it because I think Russ needed me to be there. Russ has still be struggling with some depression and maybe being with me, without kids, is what he needed to remind him of all the fun we can have together still. So, I went. Kicking and screaming but I went and once I was there I genuinely had a great time!

Day 1: Flight to Cabo, exploring the hotel (Cabo de Azul), meet and greet with Jess's family and dinner at a restaurant called Sage for Brett's bday.

Sage. It was a pretty fancy restaurant that served small portion sizes and not very tasty foods. Russ, however, had the best meal from the menu in everyone else's opinion. I got some squash veggie meal and it was super sweet and not very good.

Face-timing with the kids was a highlight of every night for me. They were always so excited to see us, even Stockton!

Brooks

How am I blessed with the cutest kids in all the land? Brooks is no exception. He is the cutest and I love his missing tooth smile. He is a timid boy until he feels like he is in control of the situation and gets comfortable. I love watching his personality shine when he lets loose a little. His best friend is Griffey, who he met at preschool. He is a kid that could take a nap every single day if I made him but then he would never fall asleep at night so we push through the day without a nap. He is a sweet boy and I love him to pieces!

Shining Star at school!

Snuggling my buddy for the last time as a 4 year old!

Rosie

I am forever grateful we got Rosie who is the sweetest and best dog ever!! She gives me so much love and is just so loyal and good to me. She follows me around everywhere and if for some reason the door is closed and she can't get to me, she will just lay quietly by the door until I open it for her to join me. Her snuggles give me all the good endorphins, close to what my newborn babies do to me. She goes absolutely nuts when I return home after being gone for even a little. It's like she didn't think I would come back to her and is beyond excited when she sees me again. She is my furbaby and I love her so much!

Celebration with Grandparents

This evening we had Brooks' grandparents over for cake and ice cream and presents! And for some weird reason I didn't get a single picture of him with his grandparents. I always get a picture of each set of grandparents with the birthday boy/girl but I guess I spaced it tonight. Maybe my mind has been a little stressed with doing his birthday celebrations and then with Russ and I leaving to Mexico on Tuesday. Leaving my kids stresses the heck out of me! You'd think I would be excited but I am actually stressed to leave my kids. Sure loved celebrating the newest FIVE year old in our household!

Grandpa Joe and Grandma Becky gave Brooks a hand-drawn cars card, some new clothes and a remote control monster truck. Grandma and Grandpa Nickle gave Brooks some new pjs and car pulling a trailer.
