Kids

It's no secret that I love my kiddos! The kids have played a lot of baseball in the backyard with Dad this month. We also went to a Jazz game and Brooks took his shirt off to cheer. The row in front of us had kids that did that as well, and then they got in trouble by a Jazz worker. So, we had Brooks put his shirt back on.

Brooks

Brooks had quite a fun month this month! He won the championship with his basketball team and received his first ever trophy! Brooks also had a fun play date with his entire team at Kingston's house. They have an indoor basketball court and Brooks thought that was pretty much the coolest thing in the world. Brooks also lost another tooth this month. He does not like pulling his teeth and waits until they basically fall out on their own because of that. He does not like the sight of blood and cries when his mouth starts bleeding. Its a little funny because he is like happy his tooth is out but the also scared from the blood. He experiences both emotions at the same time.

He created his own basketball court out of paint tape on his bedroom floor. We had parent teacher conferences this month and he is doing great in school. His teachers love him and his Spanish is coming a long well. His favorite thing about basketball is dunking it. He pulls himself up from the net over and over again and then dunks on the rim like he is the strongest kid in the world. Haha!

Brooks Basketball

Russ and him stayed home from St. George for Brooks to play in his championship game with his team. Brooks ended up guarding a kid like a foot taller then him and did awesome. They won the championship and Brooks got his very coveted trophy. Brooks and Russ then traveled through the night to get to St. George and be with the rest of the family.

St. George

Taco, Hallie and I made it down to St. George for Hallie's soccer tournament. We left a day early because there was a huge snowstorm to hit St. George the day we were supposed to leave. Unfortunately, there was a little bit of snow the night we left as well. It caused quite a bit of anxiety for me. I hate driving in the snow, especially at night, and on the freeway. Russ was very sweet and called me several times on our drive down. The drive itself was good until we hit Cedar City. It started getting very windy and then the snow came. It seriously felt like we were on the ride Space Mountain with how the snow was coming at us. I pulled off to a random gas station in the middle of nowhere and told Russ we were just going to stay the night in our car because I was too scared to drive. He did not like the sound of that. He convinced me to turn on my hazards and drive as slow as I wanted on the freeway but that we needed to get to our airbnb. He didn't feel safe with us staying in our car in the middle of nowhere. I can't blame him. But I was scared. Hallie and I said a prayer, Taco was asleep, we got back on the freeway and drove as slow as I felt comfortable. Diesels were passing me but because it was after midnight there weren't very many cars on the road besides diesels. Russ stayed on the phone with me the entire time and talked me through my minor anxiety attack. We rolled into our airbnb around 1 am and we all slept better knowing we were safe in our house. I was very appreciative of Russ being so kind, patience and protective of me and the kids.

Since we went up a day early, we had an entire day to do nothing. So, we went to some local hot springs (since it was snowing outside) and had a fun time there. Hallie and I dared each other to do their cold plunge and we tried to stay in there as long as we could. We only lasted like 1 minute. Haha! After swimming we had dinner at Costa Vida and went to a movie (GOAT). It was a great day off!

The rest of the weekend was spent freezing our tails off at soccer games. Unfortunately, Hallie's team did not play well nor did Hallie. They played scared and didn't play to their potential. It was a bummer. She did get to hang out with her bestie teammates, Sadie and Ady, quite a bit so that was fun for her. And Taco was just happy to be hanging out with the big kids. Hallie also went to the St. George temple with a few of her teammates. I love that she loves going to the temple and is excited to go!

After Brooks won his championship game, Russ and him drove down for Hallie's last soccer game. They got to our airbnb around 1-2 am and stayed 2 nights with us. They rented a car to drive down so we were all able to go home together in one car. It was nice to have them join us! It was a breath of fresh air sharing responsibilities with Russ. I do not like being alone, let alone when there is snow and we have to drive in it.

Taco stole my phone and sent a bunch of gibberish to Sadie's Dad. Haha!

Brooks and Russ enjoyed some boy time while we were away.
