Kids

Golly I love my kids. I can't imagine our family without either one of them! They are each unique in their own ways and they each compliment and complete our family so well.

Brooks terrified during the car wash. He is getting better at being brave for car washes though.

Hallie

I love when Hallie writes me sweet notes during her art time. Her "I love you's" are often counteracted with "You're mean mom" soon after but at least she loves me a few times throughout the day. Haha!

Soccer

It is finally time that Hallie move up from the city rec soccer league to a more competitive rec league. We registered her for what is called Copper Mountain Soccer Academy. She, along with all the other kids signed up for academy, practice/train once a week and then she also practices once a week with the rec team she was assigned to. She then has a game once a week too. It's definitely more of a time commitment then we are used to. Luckily there are 2 other girls in our neighborhood (Nova & Addison) that are on her team and we carpool with them to divvy out the driving between us all.

Here she is in line with Russ waiting for her first day of training. This pic was taken by one of my work friends that recognized Hallie and sent me this pic (I wasn't there). Otherwise I would have gotten a pic of the front of them and not the back. Haha!

Brooks

Brooks is such a cutie! He does not like chaos and wants to do things on his own terms. If he deems there are too many kids at such and such place then he won't participate. It usually takes him a few hours to observe and warm up before he joins in on the fun. He likes to be in control of his life and so if any scenario seems out of his control then he says no. He is starting to give up his nap and we are paying for that with either ridiculous behavior in the evening or he just straight up crashes between the hours of 4-7 PM. He freaks out if Russ can't put him to bed at night. He loves eating "steak and fish" with Russ. More often then not Hallie and him are arguing/fighting about something. Sometimes they play well together though. He is struggling to sleep in his room and has started to come into our room at night to sleep on the floor. He loves all things camping, trailers, trucks and dirt roads. He continues to be obsessed with his Grandpas and will call them on the Alexa asking them to come take him on a "dirt woad."

He loves mowing the lawn with Russ. Sometimes, during the day, he will go out all by himself to "mow" the lawn. He tells me he "has to go do some work." He takes the exact same approach as Russ does. He starts at one end of the yard and goes around the entire parameter of the yard. He even backs up his steps like Russ does going around the trees and when he approaches the fence. And of course he has to be wearing his hat and "lawn mower" shoes like Dad too.

Rosie

I am obsessed with little Rosie and she is equally obsessed with me. She follows me everywhere I go. She is my little shadow which makes potty training and overall training much easier.

Slip-N-Slide

We bought one of those long slip-n-slides from Costco this week! We also got a little splash pad for Stockton too. The slip-n-slide was a hit for Hallie and Russ. Brooks was unsure about it initially but in typical Brooks fashion loosened up as time went on. Stockton wanted nothing to do with it but boy is he cute. And Rosie loved drinking the water that was on the splash pad floor. I love making memories with this fam of mine!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to our one and only Russ. The kids are obsessed with him, especially Brooks. Russ provides amazingly for our family and is a great example to us all. I hope he loves being a dad as much as we love him being our dad. We had bacon for breakfast, gave him his annual Father's Day tie, went to church, visited our parents, and had eclairs for dessert.

Happy Birthday Russ

Happy happy birthday Russ!! Unfortunately this day didn't go as planned. I was hoping to get him breakfast in the morning, celebrate him all day and then go on a date with him later that evening. Well, yesterday I woke up with severe neck pain. Like I couldn't move my neck at all pain. If I turned my head in just the right way it would cramp up and cause severe pain. It was miserable. So, instead of doing those things in the day, I spent the day crying and then going to a chiropractor for some desperate help/relief.

Luckily Russ went golfing the day before his birthday and we still got to go out on a date with our good friends (Scott and Brielle Naylor) to his favorite restaurant, Ruth's Chris. I also gave him the newest apple watch to replace is very old one.

Ice cream cake for the birthday boy!

Stockton-15 Months

Cute little Stocko is 15 months and I can't believe my baby is now entering toddlerhood! So crazy how fast time goes. Stockton is such a sweet and easy going dude. He still isn't saying any words, has transitioned out of bottles completely and loves tormenting Rosie. He will never turn down a Popsicle and tries most foods I give him. He sleeps soundly through the night (when he is not sick) and if he doesn't start to speak or begin to understand words a little better we will start speech therapy with him. He walks like a drunk person. Russ and I joke that he walks like Jack Sparrow. Haha! He loves Julius (Shelli's dog) but grabs, squeezes and picks on Rosie all day long. Poor little Rosie. He has figured out how to climb up the play set but doesn't know how to get down so he keeps me on my toes when we are out back. I'm afraid he will fall off the swing set trying to get down.

15 Month Stats:
Weight: 22 lbs. 8 ounces (46th percentile)
Height: 31.75" (71st percentile)
Head Circumference: 19" (86th percentile)

He loves getting in Rosie's kennel and shutting the door. It's pretty funny!
